Pecan Festival

The 3-day long festival hosted by the Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce is a family-friendly event with carnival rides, craft vendors, food trucks, and much more!

The 2017 Pecan Festival will be Thursday, June 8 to Saturday, June 10.

Free Agriculture Workshop and Dinner

The Oklahoma Tribal Conservation Advisory Council, in partnership with USDA, Okmulgee County Conservation District, OSU Extension, hosts an agriculture workshop, Tuesday, April 11 from 6-8:30 p.m. RSVP is required and those interested must RSVP by 12 p.m. on  Friday, April 7. 

The workshop will go over topics such as:

  • Conservation Stewardship Program Updates
  • Agriculture Credit Information and Opportunities
  • Importance of Agriculture Census
  • Eastern Cedar Uses
  • USDA Program Updates

There will also be informational booths on different agricultural programs available. 

Dinner will be provided by House of Smoke, and there will be door prizes thanks to the Okmulgee County Conservation District.

Save Lives with OBI this April in Okmulgee

The weather is changing, and the Oklahoma Blood Institute is urging donors to take advantage of the mild season to give blood and save the lives of their fellow Oklahomans. 

Healthy adults, age 16 and older, can give blood at one of the following drives:

  • Tuesday, April 11 -- Green Country Technology Center, North End-Large Rooms,

    8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 
  • Wednesday, April 12 -- OSU Institute of Technology, Covelle Hall, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Donors will receive a free "Hero" t-shirt in their choice of spring color: blue, purple or green.

Orange Fest

Hosted by Okmulgee Main Street in partnership with OSU IT, Orange Fest is a family-friendly event that will have live music, food trucks, a chalk walk, Pete look-alike contest, art displays, and culminates with a Glo Run 5K.

2017 Lenten Fish Fry

The Knights of Columbus hosts its annual Lenten Fish Fry every Friday until Friday, April 7, at St. Anthony Activity Center. The Lenten Fish Fry features the Knights of Columbus' specially breaded fish, famous coleslaw, beans, home-made desserts and choice of beverages. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children with the option to either dine-in or carry out. 

The Knights of Columbus will also be having a raffle for two tickets to the Wednesday, April 12, home game between the OKC Thunder vs. the Denver Nuggets. Tickets are $5 per ticket, or $20 for five tickets.

First National Bank Ribbon Cutting

The Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce will have a ribbon cutting for First National Bank and Trust this Thursday, March 30, at 10 a.m. First National Bank and Trust is celebrating 100 years of service, and the Chamber of Commerce is happy to celebrate it with them. Ambassadors, representatives of the community, and local businesses will be present to show support and to congratulate First National Bank and Trust on 100 years of service to the Okmulgee community. 

First National Bank will also be hosting an open house in celebration Thursday, March 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at all of its locations, including Okmulgee. The Sports Animal Tulsa will be broadcasting live from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Okmulgee First National Bank and Trust. The 100th Anniversary Open House is free and open to the public.
